OWWT 2nd STAGE IN MONATE, 1st EVENT OF THE ITALIAN OPEN WATER TOUR
An incredible morning awaited for all the participants of the 2nd stage of the Open Water World Tour 2018, in the beautiful Lake of Monate, located in the region of Lombardy, Italy.
Monate was the first event of the Italian Open Water Tour, and hosted moret han 650 participants, distributed in 3 different races. Every stage of the Tour is made up of three competitions:
- SMILE SWIM (2500m in Monate and Noli o Maccagno, whereas in Noli the standard nautical mile)
- HARD SWIM (5000m in Monate and Noli, whereas 6000m in Maccagno)
- RELAY FOR 3 (1/2 nautical mile relay for 3).
The conditons were optimal and all swimmers could enjoy every single stroke of their performance.
The winners of the HARD SWIM competition, without wetsuit, the one which score more points for the OWWT overall ranking, were Simeoni Giacomo and Hoag Jane Ann.
Both swimmers dominated their races, but Simeoni was able to finish 4th overall. Hoag Jane ha dan amazing performance finishing 3rd overall just few seconds behind the 2nd woman.
At the end of all races, the participants could enjoy themselves with a beer festival that permited to share their experience with friends and rivals.
A special mention has to be done to all the Staff membres of the IOWT. They did an amazing job achieving the recognition of all swimmers for the amazing event they did. Congrats!
Now the OWWT will move to Kazakhstan, on the 1st of July at the Almaty Swim Race, an event located in an unique spot, that will have 3 different races, 1k, 2k and 5k. Will you miss it?
