The past Sunday 16th, Noli hosted the penultimate stage of our 2018 Tour.
Over 500 swimmers from all over Italy and from many European countries moved to Noli for the final race of the Italian Open Water Tour Challenge 2018.
United colors of Italian Open Water Tour could be the caption of the perfect snapshot taken to explain what was the IOWT stage on Sunday in Noli. An amazing rainbow effect given by the multicolored buoys has literally colored the adjacent waters of Capo Noli giving more than ever the sense of union of places and stories under the common hat of the passion for swimming in open water represented by the IOWT and OWWT philosophy.
The Spiaggia dei Pescatori was soon filled with banners and flags of many teams, making the atmosphere a real sporting happening. The sunny day embellished the crystalline and warm waters like never before.
The HARD SWIM race, 5000 meters, in the special “Natural” classification (with swim suit), Giacomo Simeoni and Jane Hoag, European pool record holder on 400 meters and 800 meters, were the true protagonists of the whole Challenge. They dominated their races from the start to finish line, giving no option to the other contenders. They were the ones who scored most points for the global Ranking of the OWWT.
The day of competitions got many other races (the Smile Swim, a mile, and 3x925m Relay).
The awards ceremony was made by the delegates of Terre des Hommes, recipient of the Charity Program of the entire Circuit.
All participants participated in the Italian Open Water Tour Charity Program for Terre des Hommes.
